Outfit of the Day - Volcom Casual

It's a semi cloudy rainy day here in Hawaii. I don't have school today. I just need to do a few errands and then I'll be working on my paper. So on a casual day, I'll probably grab my favorite pair of destroyed skinny jeans by refuge and pair it up with one of many Volcom tees. Volcom is one of my favorite brands. Living in Hawaii, I grew up wearing surf brands like Roxy, Billabong, Oneill, Hurley, etc. Of all the surf brands, Volcom is my favorite. My closet consists of numerous Volcom pieces. I go for V-neck tees or low cut neckline tees. They're more flattering than a simple tee. I would also usually wear gladiator sandals to dress it up a little and I'd grab my favorite Volcom bag. Anyway, I just wanted to show you all an example of my casual/lazy day/everyday outfits.

Bangs or No Bangs?

I've been debating a lot lately. I've had the same hairstyle for the last 5 years. My hair is naturally black but it has brown/caramel and blonde highlights, long layers all around, length is nearing my butt, and side swept bangs. Now I'm debating to go back to black with just brown highlights, no blonde, and having blunt bangs. I'm thinking of doing the blunt bangs now. I've had blunt bangs before but that was when I was in elementary. I've tried pinning up my hair to imitate the look of bangs and I say they suit me but I don't know if I should really do it. What do you guys think? I mean, I could just go back to side swept bangs if anything, right?

Here are pictures of my favorite fashions icons who went from having no bangs to bangs. Do you think they pull off the bangs look?

I came across these leggings while browsing through Japan or Korean fashion on ebay. I've never seen leggings like these before. I thought they were super cute. I want, I want, I want!

Healthy, Soft, Silky, & Shiny

Do you want shiny, silky, and healthy hair? Here's a hair product that I highly recommend. It is the Biosilk Serum. I was introduced to this product from my mother. She was using it after her co-worker suggested it for her. She was using it for awhile and I didn't really pay attention to it. I thought it was just some random "mature-lady" product that wouldn't work on me. She bought me a bottle one day and I figured I would give it a try. Ever since then, I've been using it everyday. I like to apply it after I get out of the shower. I only use a nickel size amount and apply it all over my hair. You really need a small amount because it goes a long way. I concentrate applying the products on my ends of course since they're dry from all my highlighting and straightening. I like to apply it after I straighten my hair also. It helps my hair with flyaways and takes away the brittleness look of my hair. It really keeps my hair soft, shiny, silky, and healthy. I saw an improvement in the texture of my hair since I started using. I can't go a day without it. It's a must have for me. I would recommend this product for you all.

You can find this product in most salons, Walmart, or Target. The 5 ounce bottles usually go for $12-$15 dollars. They sometimes come in a package deal where you get a combination of a 5 ounce and 12 ounce bottles. Those package deals cost only $20. Whenever I see those deals, I'll stock up. There's another deal once at a perfume store in Waikele Outlets. Sorry, I don't remember the store name but I know they carry perfumes. I bought a set that comes with a Biosilk shampoo, conditioner, and serum that cost only $30. My cashier told me that I saved literally over $60. They're 12 ounce bottles too. Awesome deal! I'll make sure to keep you girls informed when I do come across that deal again. Overstock does have the set similar to the one I bought. Hello Kitty Bags

I don't know what's the trend in the mainland but here in Hawaii, Hello Kitty is huge! I've seen a lot of Hello Kitty merchandise sold in stores.

I'm not really a fan of Hello Kitty. When I was little, I was more into Pochacco or Spottie Dottie. They're the other Sanrio characters. Hello Kitty is cute, but I just don't like the fact that it's a cat. Sorry girls, I'm more of a dog person. =)

Anyway, the reason why I'm mentioning Hello Kitty is because of the bags I've seen girls rock. I've seen many cute Hello Kitty school bags. I've also seen cute purses worn by girls in the malls. I personally wouldn't buy one of these but I thought about how they would make great Christmas presents for my friends. I've done some searching online and I found super cute ones on ebay. Here's a link to an ebay store that carries these cute bags. http://stores.ebay.com/doggiepark Most of the bidding prices start at $5 but the buy it now prices are in the $20 range.

Here are the results of my search

Perfect Imperfections

There's this tag that has big going around youtube a lot lately. It's called perfect imperfections. I enjoy watching the videos on this tag so I decided to make a blog version of it. So basically, you state three things you don't like about yourself and three things you do like about yourself. So here I go...

3 things I don't like about myself

1. Boobs - Boobs are girls' major accessories now days. The whole media portrays big boobs as sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, etc. Unfortunately, I'm on the small side. I can't wear those sexy tops or dresses that need boobs to fill them up. I usually go for tops that don't show cleavage or accentuate my boobs like a sweetheart neckline. I wish I had bigger boobs but I don't think I would go the drastic route and do a plastic surgery. It just doesn't feel right for me to do that.

2. Facial Structure - I don't like my chubby cheeks. I wish I had more defined cheeks. I try to contour them but that doesn't even help. My face makes me look more fat than I really am. I want a face structure like Vanessa Hudgens. She has these cheeks bones that are so gorgeous. My cheeks are just plain.

3. Skin color - I'm super tanned. I'm this Filipino girl with a dark tan. I know most Filipino girls are into those skin lightening products like papaya soap but I don't use them. I know I don't like my skin color but I'm not going to use a skin lightening product to make a change. And I'm not the type of girl who avoids the beach or outdoors in general to avoid getting darker. Why do some girls do that?! I soak up the sun! So it doesn't help my skin color if I'm just a beach bum almost every weekend. I wish I was just tanned. Not super-overly tanned.

3 things I like about myself

1. Smile/Teeth - This is one thing I really love about myself. I'm proud to say that I don't have any cavities nor did I need any braces. I just have a natural and beautiful teeth/smile. I take good care of my teeth, even when I was a child! So yay to me! LOLs.

2. Nails - I get a lot of compliments on my nails. I like how my nail beds are long and not short and stubby. I haven't had any acrylics before. I feel like I don't need them and I don't want to ruin my natural nails.

3. "Looking younger than my age" - I also get a lot of compliments from people saying that I look younger than my age. I'm 23 and a lot of people think I'm not even 21 yet. I'd rather look young than my actual age. When I'm in my 30s, I hope I'll still be able to look like I'm in my 20s.

LC Style

Lauren Conrad (LC) came out with a book that's about her style/fashion and style/fashion tips. Besides Vanessa Hudgens, LC is definitely one of my style icons. She has a simple but yet pretty style. It's elegant but not too much. She doesn't go overboard to a point where it's too intricate with her outfits. I love her. I'm excited about this book. I want to go pick up a copy now.

Banging!

I have side bangs and I usually cut them on my own with my scissors. Here's a video of an interesting way to cut bangs. She uses a razor to cut her bangs. When she said that she uses a razor, I thought she meant one of those razors made just for cutting hair. It's really a razor used to shave your legs. I tried doing this the other day and my bangs came out great.

I love JLovesMac1. She's super funny and entertaining to watch. She's my favorite beauty guru on youtube.

The Little Black Dress

Here's a dress that I would love to add to my collection of little black dresses. I love the sweetheart neckline and how it can be dressed up casual or formal. I found this dress on ebay by searching Japan fashion.

Eskinol

I love this facial cleanser. It is a product of the Philippines but it does wonders for my skin. This product prevents pimples, lightens skin, and removes excess oil and dirt. There are reviews online that say it is drying for your skin, but I find no problem with it. My skin is a combination of oily and dry. It successfully removed excess oil and dirt from my face. I have the classic version of this facial cleanser but they also come in papaya, cucumber, avocado, and lemon. I want to try the papaya one next. I highly suggest this beauty product.

What Time Is It?

I've been wanting a watch for awhile now. Being a nursing major, a watch is must to take vitals on patients. I find myself staring at the wall clocks while doing vitals which is a little difficult since you have maneuver yourself. Having a watch at hand will make things easier. So I've been searching and I've come across these two choices. What do you think I should choose?
